Students will expand their visual vocabulary and work on technical exercises. They will explain what they want to accomplish by sharing their current work – which will also be used to establish their skill-level and to determine in what areas the instructor can be of help.
Students will be able to express their personal style while exploring painting techniques. According to each student’s subject matter, a wide variety of both, conventional and unconventional methods of composition will be taught. Individual instruction, demonstration and exercises will assist the student in developing a unique body of work.
Students will have constant support/critiques during the course of the class. Every time they finish a painting, there will be a final critique to bring to attention all the accomplishments learned during class and the skills that still need to be worked on. Time allowing, the instructor will guide the students until the painting is completed.
