Students with a base knowledge of Relief Printmaking are encouraged to join this class. We’ll be using readily available equipment as well as a few household items in order to create carved blocks for relief printmaking artworks.
Multi-Color Block Printing requires careful planning in order to register multiple blocks for the same design. The focus will be placed on achieving varying line qualities and creating balanced and eye-catching compositions out of these block prints. We’ll go over best practices at both the design and printing stages in order to produce editions of multi-color prints by the end of the second class.
