In this class, the artist will tackle the classic challenge of drawing the human figure from life. There will be demos and exercises to practice gesture, proportion, movement, foreshortening, form, and light and shadow. Students will learn to put marks on paper that will describe what they see in front of them. This class is not so much about finished drawings, but rather the process of learning to express what they see on paper. Male and female models will be used, taking short and long poses, nude, semi-clothed and fully clothed. Various media may be explored. There will be a recap after each session for students to review their progress and learn from their fellow artists.
