Abstract Painting: One Day Workshop

All participants are required to follow the COVID safety precautions put in place by Oolite Arts and agree to all the terms in the waiver.

Abstract painting is a way to express and discover your inner self. This one-day workshop is designed for beginners and advanced students who want to explore and create abstract works of art.

The class will work on a series of exercises and technical skills to develop spontaneity and expressiveness to capture composition, form, light, volume, and movement on the canvas.

You will do several painting exercises to learn abstract painting methods, techniques, and image structures to discover direct ways of exploring several art materials and their applications.

The exercises are experimental enough to push your spontaneity and creativity while providing clear technical information about color, texture, value, composition. Abstract is not simply messing around with paint but rather an optimal way to express gestures, emotions, fleeting moments, and subtleties for visual interpretation.

All materials are included, but if you have paint colors, brushes, palette knives you want to use, feel free to bring them! All mediums are welcome.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Pablo Contrisciani earned his Masters in Fine Arts, Painting at Facultad de Bellas Artes, National University of La Plata, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally. His work forms part of public and corporate collections from USA, Latin America and Europe. Pablo is an Oolite Arts alumnus (1998-2006 and 2010-2015) and works as a painting instructor since 1998.
