Digital Lab @ 924

The Digital Lab at 924 Lincoln Road gives Oolite Arts artists regular access to digital tools and the technical support to use them. Artists use the Lab to test ideas, learn new processes, and produce work that connects their practice with 3D modeling and printing, virtual and augmented reality, large-format and sublimation printing, and digital imaging.

With generous support from the Knight Foundation, the Lab offers orientations, open lab hours, workshops, and individual consultations, and works alongside Oolite Arts’ Residency, Education, Exhibition, and Cinematic programs.

Access

• Open to Oolite Arts Studio Residents, alumni, and participants in approved Oolite Arts programs.
• Hours: Wednesdays and Fridays, 1 – 8 p.m.

Services

• Orientation and equipment training. Required before independent use of each machine.
• Open lab. Drop-in technical support during Lab hours.
• Workshops. Group sessions on specific tools and workflows.
• Individual consultations. Scheduled technical guidance on an artist’s project. Consultations cover problem-solving, not production of the work.
• Program sessions. Lab sessions for the Studio Residency, Teen Residency, Exhibitions, and Cinematic, scheduled with each program.

Equipment

• Large-format printing: Epson SureColor P8000
• Fabric printing: Epson sublimation printer and heat press
• Resin 3D printing: Anycubic Photon Mono M7 Max, with Anycubic Wash & Cure 3 Plus for post-processing
• VR: Meta Quest 3 headsets (3)

About the Team

Oolite Arts runs the Digital Lab in collaboration with MUD Foundation, a Miami nonprofit led by artist and technologist Rodolfo Peraza. MUD Foundation provides operational, technical, and programmatic support for the lab and connects it with Oolite Arts’ Residencies, Education, Exhibitions, and Cinematic programs.

MUD Foundation coordinates the Lab’s activities: open-lab and technical-support appointments, equipment orientations and training, workshops, program-specific sessions, individual consultations, and equipment access.

The Digital Lab supports Oolite Arts residents and alumni as they build technical skills, try new tools and processes, and develop projects in digital and immersive media.
