SHE Collective

The SHE Collective brings together curious, engaged women who want to do more than support the arts. They want to help shape what comes next. Rooted in Ellie Schneiderman’s founding vision and built on Oolite Arts’ 40-year legacy as an organization for South Florida artists, the SHE Collective unites women from diverse backgrounds around a shared commitment to empowerment, connection, and collective impact.

At its heart is a simple, powerful idea: together, we invest directly in artists. One third of every member’s dues goes into an acquisition fund that purchases a work by an Oolite Arts alum each year. The piece joins the Oolite Arts collection with the goal of placing it in a major museum—a milestone that can change an artist’s career.

Members make that decision together. Guided by the SHE Collective Steering Committee, the selection process takes members into artists’ studios to learn about their practice and see available work firsthand. Members then weigh the options in thoughtful, spirited discussion before casting their votes.

The Collective is also a community. Throughout the year, members gather for book club conversations, private collection tours, special events, and celebrations. These are chances to build friendships, exchange ideas, and experience South Florida’s art scene from the inside.
