In 2020, Oolite Arts launched its first art collection by acquiring works from South Florida based artists. The acquisitions program is now an annual program, with new works purchased each year.
This initiative, spearheaded by Oolite’s Board Chair Emeritus Kim Kovel and our Board of Directors, is another way to advance our mission. To further the artists’ careers, Oolite will eventually donate the works to museums across the country and internationally, so that more South Florida artists will be represented in major collections.
This year’s artists include Liene Bosquê, Leo Castañeda, Charles Humes, Jr, Yucef Merhi, Vickie Pierre, Cornelius Tulloch, and Tom Virgin.
Special thanks to the Oolite Arts Collections Committee led by Vice Chair Marie Elena Angulo, Board Chair Emeritus Kim Kovel, and Board Members Chloe Berkowitz and Lin Lougheed.
