The Program
Oolite Arts’ Home + Away program offers South Florida artists opportunities to participate in some of the most important artist residencies here in the United States and abroad.
Along with dedicated hours to work on individual studio practices, Oolite Arts recognizes that time well spent in community with fellow artists away from their regular environments not only helps further their artistic practice but has been a significant accelerator for their career.
Since its launch in 2018, Oolite Arts’ Home + Away program has partnered with world class residencies such as Anderson Ranch (Snowmass, CO), Artpace (San Antonio, TX), and Atlantic Center for the Arts (New Smyrna Beach, FL). This year, Oolite Arts is pleased to offer, once again, an opportunity of a lifetime to spend five weeks at the residency at MASS MoCA, the nation’s largest and premier contemporary art establishment located in North Adams, MA.
At MASS MoCA, 10 South Florida artists will receive access to private workspaces and to international curators and master artists visits, in addition to an unrestricted $2,500 stipend and coverage of their accommodations and travel costs.
Our hope is that with this experience, artists will return to South Florida with new ideas and relationships that will further enrich their own careers and their community.
A jury of international curators and cultural workers will select the group that will attend this five-week residency.
Oolite Arts’ Home + Away program is generously supported by the Perez CreARTE grant.
