Information
This six-week course is for absolute beginner and intermediate students. It covers all the bases of drawing. Through demonstrations, drawing time, and individual critique, the instructor will focus on the fundamentals of proportion, gesture, abstract shapes, value, and rendering form (shading). Class will discuss the use of different materials and study master drawings to understand their strengths and the techniques and processes employed.
Students will express their sensibility and feelings through drawing, following skills in basic drawing: sketching, proportions, relationship, symmetry, perspective, decomposition of forms in geometric figures, color drawing, etc. and how to use the drawings elements such as line, point, shading, etc. to represent the world around them (Objects, landscape, portraits, architecture, etc.)
After mastering some drawing skills, students can use what they learned, articulate stories, express their inner world through drawing, and develop their representational efforts in the narrative of their images through visual vocabulary.
Drawings will be evaluated constantly during class, and the instructor will suggest exercises and assignments to practice during the week.
