Intro to Screen Printing on Fabric is the ideal course for beginners to understand the basic tools and technique of screen printing and explore new ways of utilizing the process to print on fabric to create unique hand-printed textiles. In this course, students will learn how to use drawing fluid and screen filler to create original designs on silkscreens that can then be printed in multiples onto the fabric of their choice. Students can bring in virtually any kind of fabric they would like to experiment with. Natural fibers such as cotton and linen work well, along with most synthetic fibers such as polyester.

Students will learn how to use chemicals as well as water-based inks, which can be cured for long-lasting results. This is the ideal course for the novice designer and artist looking to expand their knowledge of screen printing, and is a perfect segue to intermediate and advanced courses in repeat print design and printing with dyes.
