This one-day workshop is designed to introduce you to a unique and versatile printmaking technique that produces one-of-a-kind prints that are visually striking and highly expressive. Often referred to as “painter prints,” Monotypes are created by transferring ink or paint from a plate onto paper, resulting in a unique, layered image that cannot be replicated.
During this workshop, you’ll delve into the world of Monotype and explore the different techniques available, from the light-field additive method to the dark-field reductive approach, as well as tracing techniques. With the guidance of our expert instructor, you’ll learn how to transfer your designs from the plate or matrix to paper using hand rubbing or a printing press. Whether you’re an experienced artist or new to printmaking, this workshop is a great way to learn a new skill and create unique, one-of-a-kind works of art. So come join us for a day of creativity and exploration in the exciting world of Monotype printmaking!
