Whether you’re new to painting, aiming to refine your skills, or looking to explore a new medium, this class offers a tailored learning experience for beginner to intermediate artists. With small class sizes and a differentiated instructional approach, students benefit from personalized, one-on-one learning opportunities.
The course encourages students to work with various painting mediums, including acrylics and oil paints. Each medium has unique characteristics, and mastering them requires an understanding of their specific techniques and rules. The curriculum covers essential topics such as color theory, composition, painting techniques, and the effective use of tools and materials. Students will also explore strategies for organizing the elements of art using the principles of design.
For Beginners
Beginner students will start by learning the basics of color theory, including the color wheel and how to mix and organize color schemes effectively. They will gain hands-on experience with painting tools, such as brushes, mixing palettes, and painting mediums. Beginners will focus on figurative painting and work towards completing projects such as landscapes, still lifes, and portraits using photographic references.
For Intermediate Students
Intermediate students will focus on enhancing their visual vocabulary and technical skills. They will delve deeper into both the formal and contextual aspects of their artwork, exploring and experimenting to develop their unique creative voices.
