Information
Join local fiber artist and sustainability advocate Pangea Kali Virga for a vibrant, hands-on exploration of contemporary fiber art. This workshop is part of a three-part Fiber Art series designed for beginners, experienced makers, and anyone interested in creative reuse and sustainable practices. Participants may attend a single workshop or the full series—each session offers a distinct and engaging experience from Dyeing, Patchwork to Painting on Clothes.
In this Patchwork workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of quilt design and explore a variety of patchwork approaches. Through cutting and assembling geometric shapes, you’ll transform reclaimed and upcycled textiles into a cohesive and expressive quilt-inspired composition. Participants will experiment with textile collage, zero-waste patchwork concepts, and a range of sewing techniques—both by hand and by machine.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind fiber collage wall hanging and a deeper understanding of patchwork as a creative, sustainable art form.
Supplies are included, but we’ll ask you to bring any of the materials listed below that you may have at home:
- Fabric and Fabric Scraps
- Thread
- Small Branches for hanging finished works
- Yarn
- Embroidery Floss
