Join us for a conversation between Ashley Artis, Field Engagement Manager at Creative Capital, and Michelle Lisa Polissaint, Education & Community Engagement Manager at Oolite Arts, for a “do’s & don’ts” style workshop on creating the best applications for artist grants, residencies, fellowship, etc. In this conversation they will use their experiences in facilitating and jurying open calls to give insight on making your application stand out.

About the Speakers
Ashley Artis is the Field Engagement Manager at Creative Capital. In her role, Ashley works to broaden the organization’s scope of programming to better serve the needs of artists and artist communities across the country. Through outreach, research, and strategic partnerships, she strives to ensure that national programming is intentional, self-sustaining, and meets the needs of creators in their unique contexts. Her responsibilities also include the production of the now annual Creative Capital Artist Retreat, a multi-day convening offering awardees and cultural producers the opportunity to connect and collaborate.
Michelle Lisa Polissaint is a visual artist and arts organizer based in Miami, Florida. She is the current Education & Community Engagement Manager where she is at the helm of all educational and outreach initiatives. She has previously held such positions at Locust Projects, the Miami Rail and the Hialeah Cultural Center at Miami Dade College.
