Skills: The Art of a Great Film Poster

A great movie poster is a work of art and has its artistic value independent of other factors – but there is also much more to consider and balance than simply creating a captivating image. The artist of a poster has to communicate the essence of a movie, at the same time has to sell a movie and create anticipation.

Creating the best poster for a movie is a huge job, but in these 60 minutes with Oolite Art Skills Master Class at the Miami Film Festival, designer Daniel González Sanchez takes us through his process of working with various films to create his posters memorable events, including the poster for the film “Ema” by director Pablo Larraín, which won the Best Poster Award last year.
