Idiom Off: A Conversation

A conversation discussing the use of declarative phrases, questions to the viewer, and statements in the practices of Gonzalo Fuenmayor, Nick Mahshie, and Sasha Wortzel moderated by curator and Director of Programming, Laura Marsh. Emphasizing themes of isolation and exoticism, phrases include: “How would you like for me to exoticize myself for you,” Fuenmayor, “This is not political,” Mahshie, and “We have always been an island,” Wortzel.

Curated by Oolite’s Director of Programming Laura Marsh, Idioms and Taxonomies features work by our resident artists, whose practices investigate the dual roles of personal and cultural histories.
