Information
Abstract painting is a way to express and discover your inner self. This three-hour workshop is designed for beginners and advanced students who want to explore and create abstract works of art.
You will create an original piece of mixed media artwork (acrylic, oil pastels, charcoal, paper) on canvas. After a quick review of the basics of color and composition, you can submerge yourself, along with the paint, brushes, hands, and soul, into the joy of creating your piece.
The instructor will be there to guide you in this amazing journey. The end result, the painting itself, is just an excuse to lose yourself in art.
All materials are included, but if you have paint colors, brushes, palette knives you want to use, feel free to bring them!
Refund & Cancellation Policy: Attendees can request refunds up to 24 hours before their class start date. Classes must meet a minimum enrollment number to run.
About the Instructor:
American born, Argentine raised in a multicultural family, Monica Wallis experienced her love for art since she was a young girl. Her father, being an avant guard architect and an artist himself, became a powerful creative influence throughout her life. Other art teachers guided her academic training: Perla Prats, Beatriz Vettori, and in recent years Leonor Lijov, Alicia Vicari , Paula Grazzini, Miguel Depetris and Sebastian Pinciroli.
Monica initially pursued her artistic vocation by choosing to become an architect, she graduated from the National University of Rosario and worked in this field both in Argentina and in the U.S. This love for form and color finally delivered her to the canvas where she discovered her true passion:Painting.
She founded in 2009 an experimental art studio called “Taller Experimental de Pintura”, where her main goal is for her students to have a safe heaven where they can travel into their souls thru painting. She taught five classes a week until 2021 when she moved back to the United States. She has been part of many individual and group art presentations. Today she lives in Miami, Florida and dedicates all her time to painting and is looking forward to returning to sculpting in steel, wood and ceramic as well.
