Sue Beyer
Sue Beyer is an Australian interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the question: What it means to be human. Through a fusion of traditional and emerging technologies, she creates Digital Combines—a hybrid form that integrates painting, electronics, digital media, and AI-generated hallucinations to craft layered autofictions.
Beyer’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in corporate, public, and private collections. She has received support from various Australian cultural agencies and has contributed to the academic discourse on contemporary art through peer-reviewed essays published in journals and conference proceedings.
She earned her MFA from the University of Melbourne in 2019 and was a Sessional Lecturer in the School of Design at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology from 2022 to 2024. In 2023, she was awarded prestigious international residencies at the NARS Foundation in Brooklyn and the Mark Rothko Museum in Latvia.
