Rhea Leonard, born and raised in Miami, Florida, is an African American artist that utilizes drawing, printmaking and sculpture within her art practice. She explores topics highlighting the Black body and how society affects Black life through her detailed, and poignant figurative works. She received her MFA from Florida International University and her BFA from University of Florida through New World School of the Arts College. Her artwork has been exhibited at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, and The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. Her work has been published in Gumbo Magazine Issue 001, the New York Times, The Biscayne Times and The Miami Times. She is currently a resident artist of The Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami, Florida.
