Information
Collage is a technique of creation that results from an assemblage of different images to create a new image. In this workshop, participants will be invited to follow a method that will lead them to create their own unique work.
Therefore, it will be a journey of self-discovery through each’s own creative process.
Artist Carol Jazzar will guide you through her signature collage method, focusing on the original technique of papier collé, using only paper to make your own masterpiece. At the end of the session, there will be a group review to learn about each other’s final work.
All materials are included. No previous experience is necessary.
Classes must meet a minimum enrollment number to run; please don’t wait until the last minute to register!
About the instructor:
Carol Jazzar is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in El Portal. She started making collage in 2012 as a means of inner exploration and self-development. This practice has been a creative path allowing her to practice self-analysis and to experience personal and artistic goal. In 2023, she published a book titled All (W-hole) of Me, healing through Art, the art of deconstructing and recreating oneself, featuring her latest collage series as well as a conversation with Lacanian psychoanalyst Karina Tenenbaum, and two essays—one by curator and art historian Tami Katz-Freiman and the other by M.Keely Sutton, a historian specializing in Hinduism. Her work demonstrates a unique inquiry into the creative impulse and its processes.
