Often called painter prints, Monotype, meaning single print, is a form of printmaking celebrated for its unique painterly aesthetic. This material-based process involves ink applied to or removed from a glass, metal, or plastic sheet. The image is then transferred to paper by rubbing or by a printing press. This workshop explores additive (light-field), reductive (dark-field), and tracing techniques. Upon conclusion of the class, students will have created a series of unique prints.
