About the Speakers
Anita Sharma is a Miami-based archivist, researcher and collections manager with over twenty years of experience in the field of Visual Arts Collections & Information Management. She is the founder of WAAM (Women Artists Archive Miami) and specializes in community based archiving initiatives, digital archiving practices and working with artist studio archives. She has worked at libraries, archives, museums and private collections including the British Library, Arani & Shumita Bose Collection, Rubell Collection, Debra & Dennis Scholl Collection, Zarina Hashmi Studio Archive, Frost Art Museum & SALIDAA.
Pedro Wazzan is a Venezuelan photographer based in Miami, Florida. His work endures and resists the rush of trends resulting in a kaleidoscopic iris that captures and interprets life into his personal visual language.
Wazzan has been teaching photography for the last forteen years and has participated in many exhibitions in Venezuela and the USA. He is a Permanent Resident Artist at the Bakehouse Art Complex where his solo show “IntheStudio” has become permanent. This last work received a Grant from Oolite Arts/The Ellies Award in2020.
