Adler Guerrier

Guerrier will create a film that will depict spaces identified with immigrant groups, and explore how people shape them culturally and politically. This examination will offer images of grace and dignity to counter the dominant framing that depicts immigrant spaces as dirty and dangerous.

Adler Guerrier, born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, lives and works in Miami, Florida. Guerrier received a BFA from New World School of the Arts/University of Florida. Guerrier’s recent exhibitions include Deployed, Conditional, and Limited Utopia at David Castillo Gallery (Miami), Et in Arcadia Ego at Oolite Arts (Miami), Invisibilité Ostentatoire at Fondation Clément (Martinique), and MemoryLab at HistoryMiami Museum (Miami). In 2018, Guerrier will present works at Torrance Art Museum (California), the California African American Museum and Marisa Newman Projects (New York). Also, in 2018, Guerrier and collaborator Domingo Castillo will launch OCR:Miami, an art and research project that aims to render various sites around Miami more visible.
