Oolite Arts, a nonprofit organization, hosted the Ellies Awards—often referred to as “Miami’s Oscars.” The event awarded $600,000 in grants to help artists bring their visual arts projects to life and advance their careers. Among those in attendance was George Pérez, founder of the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
