Information
Relief Printing is one of the oldest forms of printmaking and is widely loved for its unique aesthetic and accessibility to all levels of printmakers. This course consists of three classes in which students will be introduced to a variety of carving and printing techniques. Students will be assisted in adapting their own personal designs/ drawings to fit the look of block printing. The class will have hands-on instruction when using our Charles Brand Etching Press to run their full editions of prints.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Matthew Forehand has based his art career out of the city of Miami. He began his art school studies at Pensacola State College where he received his Associate’s degree in Visual Arts. Matthew continued his education at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking. During his time at SAIC, he enrolled in Ox-Bow School of the Arts, an artist residency in Saugatuck, Michigan. He taught visual arts at Miami Arts Charter School (MAC) and Oolite Arts. Currently, he’s the Printmaker resident at Oolite Arts.
