Miami native, Silvia Ros received a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Miami. A self-taught photographer, Ros specializes in photographing artwork, artwork installations, architecture, editorial and her own creative projects. Selected solo exhibitions include Connecting Concrete: Modernist Architecture from Havana to Miami (2024, MIA Galleries at Miami International Airport and the Art Deco Museum, Miami Beach, Florida) and In the Ring: The Art of Boxing (2006, MIA Galleries and 2023 City of Angels Boxing, Los Angeles, California). Selected group exhibitions include Journeys of Freedom (2025, Museum of Art and Design, Miami Dade College, Miami, Florida) and Thoughts on Democracy (2008, The Wolfsonian-FIU, Miami Beach, Florida). Ros has received four State of Florida Division of Arts and Culture grants, two Knight Foundation grants, and two Oolite Art’s Ellies Creator Awards. Her work documenting the LGBTQA+ movement is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
