Information
Drawing is meditation with a pencil!
This course is for an absolute beginner to intermediate students. No prior experience is necessary. Express your inner world through drawing, strengthen your skills through a classical approach to drawing using a step-by-step method.
Demonstrations, drawing time, and individual critiques focus on the fundamentals of proportion, comparison, gesture, abstract shapes, value, and rendering.
Each class will focus on organic elements like flowers, plants, trees, and animals and follow a step-by-step process. Students will learn to see each element with the right side of their brain so they can represent them correctly. Students will learn a structure for making a series of analytical drawings in each class.
In the last half hour of class, students will do quick sketches to develop spontaneity and capture the subject matter’s expression.
Students will be guided according to their skills with constant evaluation while drawing. At the end of this 4-week course, students will master basic drawing abilities to develop a visual vocabulary.
