Open Studios, Brunch & Tour of Common Space + Feels Like 97°

Visit the studios of our resident artists and enjoy a delicious brunch. The event will also feature a curator-led tour of “Common Space” and “Feels Like 97°.”

“Common Space” features work by ten renown artists from New York and Miami who re-envision social space as a site of artistic production. Through architecture, cartography, and language the exhibition bridges the gallery with studios and common rooms at Oolite Arts and integrates residency and visiting artist cultures.

“Feels Like 97°” is an exhibition exploring photographic and video work produced under the warmth of South Florida’s sun. The compulsion to focus on South Florida comes from not only the dreamlike imagery but an opportunity to look at the diversity and socio-economic divide that exists in a community fraught with the effects of climate change and gentrification.
