About The Block

What’s happening in your neighborhood? The Block is giving Miami filmmakers and storytellers a total of $32,000 to create a short documentary about Miami’s neighborhoods.

Five Miamians will be selected to pitch their concepts in front of a jury and a live studio audience for a chance to win up to $14,000 in funding for their projects.

The top three chosen will receive help making their film from the University of Miami’s School of Communications Film Program, and access to the Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archive.
