Live Pitch Contest

Join us at Silverspot Cinema for the finals of The Block, Oolite’s new short documentary contest.

Five filmmakers will pitch their short documentary concepts about a Miami-Dade neighborhood in front of a jury of nationally-recognized film professionals and a live studio audience for a chance to win up to $14,000 from a pool of $32,000 in funding for their films. All five finalists will receive free access to footage in the Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archives. The top three winners will receive help making their film from the University of Miami School of Communication’s Department of Cinema and Interactive Media.

The pitch contest will be followed by an hors d’ouevres reception at which the winners will be announced.
