Information
“The eye should learn to listen before it looks.” – Robert Frank
In this one day-workshop students will learn the basics of urban photography using all types of cameras, including phone cameras, to explore the buildings, alleys, architectural details, reflections, and many of the elements that are part of the urban landscapes around Lincoln Road.
We will discuss the importance of light, darkness, shadows, colors and shapes to create photos that are either abstract in nature or photos that celebrate the historic elements of Miami’s architecture.
Students will learn about the basics of photographing urban landscapes and to use elements such as shadows, reflections, patterns and geometry to make aesthetically interesting photos of any city. A few photos per student will be selected, shared, and reviewed with the group after the practices.
This workshop is part of a series of 1-day Photography workshops we offer monthly. You don’t need to take all of them, but you will find different topics to learn each time!
