Houston Cypress

Reverend Houston R. Cypress (He / They) is a Two-Spirit poet, artist & activist, from the Otter Clan of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida. Through his artistic practice, Houston explores and articulates Queer Ecological Knowledge through community-based artistic, mystical, and shamanistic techniques, including Deep Listening, Ceremony, Pilgrimage, and Service. Houston is also inspired by the dialectic between Sovereignty and Boundary Dissolution, the Biological and Technological, and how Languages can evoke states of consciousness.
