Information
Join us for a comprehensive 4-week workshop where you’ll explore the fascinating art of screenprinting on both paper and textiles. This versatile technique allows you to produce beautiful, high-quality prints.
This course is designed for beginners and provides essential tools and techniques to master the silk screening process. During the course, you’ll gain hands-on experience with the necessary tools for creating a series of prints.
We’ll use water-based inks that are easy to clean and perfect for practicing at home, enabling you to develop your screenprinting skills further. Whether you’re a beginner designer or artist, this course is ideal for grasping the fundamentals of silkscreening.
Beginning with one-color prints and hand-drawn imagery, students will have the chance to explore the medium and its various uses. Over the four weeks, students will also learn to use photos and digitally manipulated imagery to advance their ideas and produce a unique series of original screenprinted artwork.
The class meets on Thursdays for four consecutive weeks for a total of 10 hours. This course will qualify participants to book unassisted studio time in our screenprinting facilities during studio hours.
All consumable supplies are provided, though we will also review the different kinds of paper available for those who want to create archival prints.
At the end of the 4 classes, students will collectively look at the work produced and discuss technical and conceptual successes, skills learned, and future goals.
