Now that you’ve gotten the basics down, it’s time to learn how to put yourself out there. With the help of Miami-based artist and web designer, Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova, and artist collective Dale Zine, you will learn how to build a website that shows your work in the best light possible.
About the Speakers
Dale Zine, established 2009 in Miami, is an independent printer and publisher with the goal of giving a platform to multimedia artists and designers. With humble beginnings as a zine collaboration about Garfield, Dale has broadened into something of an open cultural space for the Miami community, with offerings ranging from all- age zine workshops to our independent radio show, pop-up events, and most recently a storefront in Downtown Miami. Collaborations of note include those with Tim Biskup, Matt Furie, Legowelt, Friendswithyou, to name just a few of our over 75 titles and counting. You can find our work in Miami, Tokyo, LA, New York, Beijing and online at DaleZine.com. In addition to publishing our own original content, we also host a series family oriented art workshops that focus on the creative empowerment of the children (Dale Kids).
Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova is an Artist, Designer, Curator, and Cultural Producer based in Miami. He is the Co-founder and Co-director of Dimensions Variable, and artist-led nonprofit curating and supporting new contemporary art projects. He is also the founder and partner at Fulano, a digital brand and design studio. As an artist, his work is in several public and private collections, and has been exhibited in notable galleries and institutions throughout South Florida, nationally, and internationally. His work and curatorial projects have been published in many publications, and he’s been awarded grants and residencies from distinguished organizations. His design studio collaborates with primarily arts and nonprofit clients to help them achieve their creative brand and digital goals.
