Mark Russell
Mark Russell, born in Miami, Florida, and currently resides in Miami, Florida. Russell received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Visual Arts from Miami International University of Art & Design, in May of 2018. Russell uses a blend of alcohol markers, and, pen and ink to create portraits inspired by human life and experiences. Drawing inspiration from master illustrator, Norman Rockwell, Russell’s work captures his own perspective of the culture of his time. Selected group exhibitions include Carrie Meek Senior Center – Liberty City, “Voices of Our Community: Race, Risk, Resilience Art Exhibition” (2021), Little Haiti, “The MLK Parade & Festivities Art Exhibition” (2021); Sandrell Rivers Theater, “Liberty City Creative Exhibition” (2020). Russell received a Summer Residency from the Bakehouse Art Complex and Oolite Arts Ellies Teachers Travel Grant.
